Lately there are a lot of great bands and singer/songwriters among us, like Amy Winehouse, Adèle, Amy Macdonald, Lisa Hannigan, Damien Rice, The Frames, Gabriella Cicli, She Wants Revenge (inspired by Joy Division & Depeche Mode), Maria Mena, and a lot of other kind musicians, but it's obvious that music is changing again and this time for the better, a lot of new artists with old heroes, from the 30's 'till now in all sorts of musicgenres, you just need to listen closely, they are out there.

Love this song and love this video!!! One of my all time favorite artists. This song is 13 years old and still sounds groundbreaking. Pj was part of that 90's female singer-songwritter explosion that was huge when I was in high school and college. The crap they try and pass off today doesn't even compare! I'll give props to Karen O but that's about it. Pj, Tori, Bjork..., I'll take them anyday over today's female artists.

i think its about having an abortion or miscarriage. im not 100% sure but everytime i listen to this song and listen closely to the lyrics that is what immediately comes to my head
I had to lose her...
To do her harm...
I heard her holler...
I heard her moan...
my lovely daughter...
i took her home...

I don't think so, she just had her child when she made this song and it's about birth, motherhood and all that. Atleast, that's what I remember, but maybe I was misinformed. Still a great song though...

I always thought it was about rape or of sex of some sort...
